Ruffle Crop Cami Top Sewing Pattern

Set to borderless printing, piece the pages together, and start your sewing project! – it's that simple!

Cut the front piece on fold once, and cut the side and back pieces twice (making sure each side is mirrored).

Align the notches and sew the sides and the front piece together. Sew the back pieces to the sides.

Use an overlock or zig-zag stitch to finish the inside seams. Press the seams.

Finish the hem of the ruffle by folding it over twice and stitching it down. Repeat this process for the sides of the ruffle. Press the hems.

Fold over the side hem of the back pieces twice and stitch them down. Repeat the process for the bottom hem. Press the hems.

Prepare the straps. Go to SEWING GUIDE for more details.

Attach the straps to the wrong side about 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 6cm) from the center back and right on the seam between the front and side pieces.

Pin the ruffle to the top, ensuring it covers the straps underneath. Stitch the ruffle to the top.

Carefully make small snips into the seam of the ruffle every few inches to help it curve smoothly. Press the ruffle.

Lay the top flat with the ruffle open, then top-stitch along the wrong side of the garment about 3/16 inch (2mm) away from the ruffle, making sure not to sew over the straps.

Create small straps from the fabric or use elastic bands to make loops. Stitch the loops to the sides of the back pieces (aligning the stitching on top of the existing stitch for a more professional finish).

Thread a string through the loops.
