Cut the front and back pieces on the fold once.

Sew the sides of the skirt using either an overlock stitch or a knit thread.

Stitch the elastic band together to create a loop.

Pin the elastic band around the waistline of the skirt, and stitch the elastic band to the skirt.

Fold the waistline under and finish by hemming the skirt.
